Tried configuring a network connected printer on two #Linux machines this past week. One unnamed and the other @linuxmint.

The unnamed machine took nearly a day to configure, with looking up packages and ports and HCL lists and driver packages and what not.

#LinuxMint on the other hand went, “Hello there, you have a printer on the network! Want to print to it? Also that thing’s got a scanner too, want to be able to use it? Done and done!”

Took all of 5 seconds.

All my language learning has ground to a halt. No French or Urdu for quite a while.

So decided to do it even slower. Tiny bits of French daily with a chapter of Assimil’s, New French With Ease. Hopefully, that’ll help me be persistent.

#TIL: Since I sync my zettelkasten-esque Org Roam folder across multiple devices, using Syncthing, every once in while I’d get file conflicts and revisions and the Org Roam db would panic and log errors, because it would find multiple versions of the same file.

Today I learnt, I could exclude subfolders from my Org Roam path. using org-roam-file-exclude-regexp

I put in both my Syncthing subfolders and et voilà, no more errors!
