This! I did this! Beginning 2016 methinks. Took me close to a year, to completely jump ship.

Also, if you hate Adobe enough, then you will live without a photo editing workflow that works the way you want, for years. (I’m not bitter at all), but there are other tools. I’ve gotten used to Darktable now. (it’s finally gotten to where I can use it without it breaking my expectations)

But most other things were there waiting for me on #LinuxMint and it’s been a joy.

We tried and failed to fix this issue for years, and as we worked on the new screensaver we just realized what was causing it. It’s fixed now, not only for the new screensaver, but after extensive testing also as an update to the old one….

Upgraded to #LinuxMint Wilma. The process was smooth. Lots of stuff not working, but thanks to everything being well documented and checked and inconsistencies shown up front, nothing was a surprise

I am a light mode in the day and dark mode eve onwards person.
And of course I want my @linuxmint to automatically change themes for me. As of now, it natively does not.

and so tada: S L Gobinath’s Dark Mode applet to the rescue.

While I don’t quite get the iOS-esque automatic sundown switch, aleast now Mint switches to dark mode automatically at 6 in the eve.

Tried configuring a network connected printer on two #Linux machines this past week. One unnamed and the other @linuxmint.

The unnamed machine took nearly a day to configure, with looking up packages and ports and HCL lists and driver packages and what not.

#LinuxMint on the other hand went, “Hello there, you have a printer on the network! Want to print to it? Also that thing’s got a scanner too, want to be able to use it? Done and done!”

Took all of 5 seconds.
