There is fiction in the space between
The lines on your page of memories
Write it down but it doesn’t mean
You’re not just telling stories

close to two decades after I moved to a completely digital audio library, I’ve had my first case of bit rot and needed to replace close to 25 songs.

This is quite a bit longer than my records and tapes and cds lasted, when i was using them though. So pretty pleased :)

I bought songs on iTunes. How much longer will I get to buy songs for keeps for myself, is anyone’s guess though.

From all that you’ve shared, I surmise that if I forsee my init growing more complex (and I do), then I better invest the time and effort into learning and using use-package (which I will)

Thank you all, for your thoughtful replies and for indulging me :)

finally enabled #Syncthing’s introducers. on *one* machine. after close to five years of using it.

i have enough devices now that redoing them is a giant pita otherwise

it confused the hell out of me when I did it last. machines would keep offering me folders and i would not know what came from where 😂

now i know enough of how I use syncthing to know that enabling introducers on one machine is enough.

Watching shared folders propogate painlessly is so amazing! Thank you #Syncthing

, @pymander, @crmsnbleyd, @rostre, @fidel & @mousebot, thank you all for your help and thoughtful replies. Before I flog this horse to death though, permit me one more ask

At what point in you #emacs journey did you folk begin using use-package Did ya’ll just start out with it? Or were you just chugging along until some problem got so unbearable that ya’ll started casting out for solutions and use-package was it.

What specific pain point did it solve for you?

(Asking because while I see the appeal, I am trying to see if I want to actually begin using this tool. It does nothing currently. My emacs is pretty simple and each big mode has its config broken out into its own init file)

Thank you folk, once again :)
