I know I’m probably the last to stumble on this, but given “AI” and “Copilot” and all that jazz, this is even more side-splittingly funny

I don’t use or know #ImageMagick at all, but joining images? I never thought I’d use it as much as I did. But it’s infrequent enough that I’d documented it a while back. And it saves my behind every time 😂

You get your best ideas in the morning.
Due to life and circumstances, the only time you get the time, space and bandwidth *actually* write is in the evening. How do you cope? How do you retain your ideas?
All answers appreciated. Please boost for reach!

Tech writer friends on the #Fediverse, when do you write about your projects?
I write tiny scripts that help me do stuff.
And I always want to write about them.
But I feel silly, thinking folks already know this.
Or I haven’t done it yet, let me write about it once, I get it working
And once I’m done, sometimes the thing I did is so specific, I don’t know if other folk will write it.
Or the script / program does, what I want it to do, works really well, and fades into the background with my good intentions of writing about it.

How many mystery writers does it take to change a lightbulb?
Two! One to change the bulb, and the other to give it an unexpected twist at the end!

Writing gives poor thinking nowhere to hide.
When your invisible thoughts are made visible, you are forced to confront them as they are, not as you wish them to be. You can’t simply take a few minutes here and there, get the gist of the problem, and expect to have clear thinking and unique insights.
Good thinking, like good writing, demands patience.

Good writing is expensive, but poor writing costs a fortune.
Poor writing transfers the work from the writer to the reader. Good writing, on the other hand, nearly reads itself, allowing the reader to spend more time thinking about the ideas than pulling out meaning. Poor writing might be one of the single biggest invisible costs in organizations.
